“You must somehow understand that we as horsemen can do very little to teach the horse. What we can do is create an environment in which he can learn.” -Monty Roberts

At Grace Equine we are passionate about education. By sharing our knowledge with others, our mission is to support holistic horse care practices, a better understanding of our horse’s needs, and an awareness of how horse and rider interactions directly impact our horse’s mental and physical state.  We offer educational workshops and presentations to small groups, youth programs and teams, and other specialized groups to meet your needs. We will also schedule an individual consultation if you have specific questions but you are not ready to commit to a bodywork or massage session.

We believe that it is an invaluable part of horsemanship to develop a basic understanding of equine anatomy and physiology. With this knowledge comes an understanding of how equipment, training routines, personal riding styles, and horse keeping practices impact our horse’s overall health and well being. Workshops and presentations can be customized to meet the needs of your individual group, and we value a combination of intentional content, hands on exploration, and opportunities for experiential questioning. We welcome collaborative efforts with instructors and trainers to best meet the needs of teams or student groups.

Example topics have included:

  • An introduction to equine anatomy and how your horse moves
  • Core strengthening and balancing exercises for your horse
  • Horse & rider imbalances and how to address them
  • Stretching and ground exercises for fitness and balance
  • Equipment review and how it affects our horse’s body and movement
