Ongoing maintenance of the musculoskeletal system is imperative to maintain optimal performance, prevent injuries, and foster overall comfort for your equine counterpart. As part of a holistic wellness plan, fitness and exercise programs play an important role in mitigating imbalances, keeping muscles toned and supple, and maintaining flexibility. As part of your horse’s bodywork practice, we may include and/or incorporate suggestions for continued stretching exercises, core strengthening & stabilizing exercises, and other alternatives to groundwork and movements under saddle.

With a specific interest in movement and horse and rider partnerships, we can also observe the horse under saddle and assist in identifying potential horse/rider reciprocal causes for imbalances. This may allow us to pinpoint potential resulting symptoms such as pain, inflammation, stiffness, decreased range of motion, or noticeable changes in a way of going or willingness to give.

We encourage collaboration with your instructor or trainer and welcome discussion with them to best support you and your horse. Whether you are a competitive rider or just enjoy a quiet trail ride here and there, we want to support your horse in reaching his or her fullest potential. We believe that a horse moving as close to his or her most natural way of going as possible is a happy horse!
